Xtreak Dictionary

File Type Limits	Xtreak supports all file types, from AAC - ZIP.
Permalink	Upon completion of the uploading process, an unchanging and unique URL is automatically created. You can easily copy the permalink and paste it into an email, send it over instant message, insert it on your website or display it on your blog.
Bandwidth Rollover	You never lose the unused delivery bandwidth stockpiled in your account. All unused bandwidth carries over.
Volume Based Metric	Bandwidth usage is measured using Xtreak's patented volume-based metric so you only pay for the bandwidth you use and only fully transferred direct downloaded files are counted.
Real Time Reporting	Get real time information about the movement of your uploaded files. The download count for each file is located on the file's information page. The total download count for all the files within a folder is located on the folder's information page.
Upload Client	The Uploader is a desktop client (for both Mac and Windows) that allows for queuing multiple files for uploading. Please see our tools page for more information on the Xtreak Uploader software.
Passworded Files	Files may be password protected for increased security. Users accessing passworded files will be prompted for a username and password.
Visibility Settings	Apart from setting your files as password protected, you can also set uploaded files to either "public" or "unlisted" visibility. All uploaded files are initially considered "public" and will show up on your public page and in your Xtreak RSS feed. If you intend to privately pass on the URL to your file, set the file visibility to "unlisted".
BitTorrent (P2P)	The ability to torrent a file or folder gives you the opportunity to share your files on the internet through a secure peer-to-peer network. Sections of your file are downloaded from various points across the internet, until the entire file is retrieved, and since the downloading is shared (peer-to-peer) the file transfers done by other users is FREE.
Instant Web Presence	Xtreak automatically creates your own publicly available web page. Share the address (URL) to this page with your friends, family or colleagues and invite them to visit for downloads or RSS feeds (standard, mobile and BitTorrent) of your files and a chance to donate bandwidth to your cause.
RSS Feeds	Xtreak automatically creates RSS feeds containing pointers to all of your uploaded and torrented files.
iTunes Support	Your main Xtreak RSS feed is iTunes compatible allowing you to add your feed directly into iTunes for others to easily find and download your podcasts and videos.
Mobile Phone Streaming	Converts media to 3GP streams for playback on mobile phones in a single click. Xtreak's mobile phone video domain movemobi.com links you to publicly available videos you can watch on your 3G mobile phone.
API Access	You can build Xtreak functionality into your applications, design new Xtreak interfaces or integrate Xtreak services into your website using the Xtreak API.
Embeddable Web Widget	The Xtreak web widget is an iconic representation of each of your uploaded files containing all methods of downloading and sharing your file in a compact interface. By pasting the embeddable widget HTML into your website or blog, you give simple button-driven access to your files as well as real-time download stats all within a small rectangle.
Bandwidth Donation	Anyone on the Internet can directly pay for bandwidth which will be added to your Xtreak account. Use the Bandwidth Donation feature to achieve the goals of your grass roots organization.
Bandwidth Transfer	Other Xtreak users can directly move their own Xtreak bandwidth into your account.
Auto Publish	Give us your existing RSS feed and we'll automatically scan it for new files and upload the new files to your Xtreak account. Then, based on your choice, we will automatically create a permalink, a mobile phone stream or a BitTorrent for each newly uploaded file.
P2P SmartSeed	SmartSeed allows you to set a threshold that tells Xtreak to stop seeding your BitTorrents when enough external users are already contributing their own bandwidth. When the number of external seeders drops below the threshold, Xtreak will again seed your BitTorrent. This feature saves your Xtreak bandwidth by intelligently relying on your downloaders to contribute bandwidth.
