How to Mobilize a File
Log in to your Xtreak account.  Upload your video or audio file to your account and see it listed under ‘my files’.  Click on the file name and select ‘convert>create mobile’ and then click on the ‘create mobile’ button.  Your file will be queued for mobile encoding and you will be emailed (within 5 minutes) when it has finished processing.  A link to your mobile stream will be added to your public mobile page.

Watch Mobile Video

Small Business Owners
How to Avoid the High Cost of Video Delivery
Are you paying for delivery bandwidth you don’t use?  Are you stuck with a long term contract with a CDN? Do you overpay for bandwidth?

More small business owners and individuals are using Xtreak’s volumetric video delivery service to substantially reduce their delivery bandwidth costs and here is why:

Xtreak’s “metered” or volume-oriented bandwidth saves them money.  They only pay for the exact amount of bandwidth used to deliver files because volume based usage metrics accurately track how much bandwidth is used.  Pay-as-you-go pricing instead of long-term contracts means that companies have the leverage to demand high quality so high performance is guaranteed.  For more information read VolumetricDelivery.pdf

BitTorrent Fans
We upgraded our BitTorrent seeding system
The new system is faster, more responsive and utilizes less of a machines’s CPU.  Also, the new torrent system supports “single file” torrents so now you can create torrents of files and folders.  This makes the organization of your files within Xtreak much easier and Xtreak’s torrent will be more compatible with RSS based BitTorrent clients.

New Feature
Drop Box
Due to popular demand, Xtreak now offers a way for your clients and colleagues to upload files to specific folders in your Xtreak account.

To set up a Drop Box, go to the ‘my files’ page and create a new folder. You can optionally assign your corporate logo to this folder.  Click on the folder name and select ‘convert>create dropbox’. Indicate the visibility setting for the uploaded files (public, unlisted or passworded) and make the Drop Box available to your clients.  Just send the folder’s URL in an email or place the link on your website.

More Metrics

Do you like to see numbers in visual format and in real-time? Xtreak stores and displays “accurate” download metrics for each of your files. Delivery statistics are updated in real-time and only files that are fully delivered are counted. To see the numbers in a visual format, go to ‘my files’ and change the “view” to “metrics”. You can adjust the date range to focus on specific data or get more detail by moving the mouse over the bar graphs.

Export Metrics
The exported metrics contain even more data.  Click on the “xml log” to export the download metrics to your computer.  Open the .xml file in Excel to see an organized, searchable, and sortable display of download data. Use the data to build customized reports. The exported metrics data includes the file size of each download, the date & time, the download IP, and the download browser. Use an IP address map lookup service (on the Internet) to find the country, region and city associated with the IP address.
